We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer in Test with hands-on experience in Java and Python to design, develop, and maintain applications that drive business processes and customer solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about clean code, scalable systems, and modern development practices.

Requirements:

• 4+ years software engineering experience (with at least 2 years in Java OOP), or 3+ years in automation testing with strong OOP knowledge.
• Experience working with APIs (REST/GraphQL) and strong SQL/database skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Hands-on experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of software design principles, design patterns, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop backend services and APIs in Java.
• Contribute to code reviews, best practices, and high-quality coding standards.
• Build and maintain automation frameworks for testing, data management, and reporting.
• Troubleshoot issues in production using monitoring and observability tools.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and stakeholders to deliver reliable software.
• Continuously improve development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and quality practices.

Desired skills or interests in:

• Experience with automation tools (Playwright/Pytest).
• Familiarity with asynchronous processing (Celery, AMQP, MQTT, Redis).
• Exposure to cloud-native applications (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and distributed systems.

Location: Onapsis is establishing a new development center in Bucharest. This is a hybrid role (1-2 days per week from the office), so candidates must be commutable to Bucharest every week.
