Job Summary:
Looking for a seasoned Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate sophisticated, compliance-oriented data workflows utilizing AWS-native services. The ideal candidate will focus on developing event-driven architectures, manage the entire lifecycle of lead/person data, and ensure resilient system operations within AWS environments. This high-risk role demands advanced knowledge in event-driven systems, backend engineering, and data governance, with a significant emphasis on security and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build event-driven workflows leveraging AWS services.
- Develop resilient backend services in Python, Java, or TypeScript, ensuring effective orchestration, failure handling, and observability.
- Manage and optimize lead/person data lifecycle processes including normalization, deduplication, enrichment, suppression, and retention & deletion.
- Securely integrate distributed AWS services, delivering production-ready solutions with comprehensive monitoring and operational readiness.
- Support reliable deployment strategies such as staged rollouts and canary deployments, ensuring system stability and data integrity.
Must-Have Skills:
- Proficiency in event-driven distributed systems on AWS (EventBridge, Lambda, SQS, Step Functions).
- Deep understanding of data lifecycle management and governance at scale.
- Solid experience in backend engineering with Python, Java, or TypeScript, and infrastructure as code practices (CDK or CloudFormation).
Industry Experience:
- At least 6 years of experience in backend or distributed systems engineering, preferably within AWS environments.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in building production systems focusing on customer/lead data pipelines, data governance, and compliance workflows is highly desirable.
