Our workforce empowers customers to build better products faster through technologies such as additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence, generative design, and robotics.We are expanding our Autodesk Fusion Manufacturing Data Model (MFGDM) team in Canada and are seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to help build the core data extraction pipeline, define the data model, and deliver cloud services that transform traditional monolithic file systems into granular, reusable data assets. This role will collaborate across Canada and with global teams, aiming to enable critical customer workflows, unlock hidden value in files, and contribute to the next‑generation Design & Manufacturing Platform.ResponsibilitiesWork within a scrum team of 7–8 engineers.Lead the execution of customer and project requirements from the product owner or product manager.Facilitate collaboration with other scrum teams across Canada and globally.Act as the primary developer, designing, implementing, testing, and delivering MFGDM modules, components, and services. Remove obstacles, propose solutions, anticipate risks, and develop mitigation plans.Communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout various phases—requirements clarification, solution and planning reviews, status updates.Demonstrate engineering excellence, contributing to high‑quality delivery. Examples include improving the automation framework, building monitoring tools, leveraging data analysis for risk assessment, and optimizing operational processes.Lead the application of applied AI in product delivery by using AI coding agents to accelerate feature and fix delivery, with rigorous verification through tests, CI pipelines, code reviews, and security‑aware practices.Promote AI‑first best practices within the team and product, sharing successes externally so that other engineers can adopt productive and safe AI workflows.Minimum QualificationsBS or higher in computer science or a related technical discipline.8+ yearsof software development experience in commercialized products or large‑scale systems.Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong sense of ownership and alignment facilitation.Fast learner and good team player.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure.Expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js with real project experience.Expertise in AWS or a comparable cloud platform such as Azure with real project experience.Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools to ship production systems, with the judgment to verify and correct AI output (code‑review rigor, debugging skill, ownership of correctness).Preferred QualificationsWillingness to take on challenges and stretch beyond comfort zones.Experience mentoring and coaching other developers.Hands‑on project experience and technical leadership in full‑stack cloud services development.Extensive experience with MCP or equivalent standardized methods for linking models to tools and context.Salary Transparency
For Canada‑based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $131,000 and $191,400. Offers may exceed this range and include annual cash bonuses, commissions (for sales roles), stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.#J-18808-Ljbffr
