Position Summary

The Senior Analyst will be instrumental in the design, development, and enhancement of backend systems and applications, leveraging Java and Python to build robust, scalable solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles. The ideal candidate will work on integrating AI and agentic solutions into existing systems, ensuring high availability and performance. The Senior Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including leads, product managers, and frontend developers, to deliver innovative solutions that meet business objectives and enhance user experiences.

Expectations for the Role:
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, effectively conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Possess a strong understanding of backend development frameworks and methodologies, including Java and Python.
• Be familiar with the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Understand and implement CI/CD practices, ensuring smooth integration and delivery of code changes.
• Drive the adoption of DevOps and SRE best practices, including automation, monitoring, and incident response strategies.
• Collaborate with data science teams to integrate AI solutions into applications, enhancing functionality and user experience.
• Optimize application performance through profiling, code reviews, and continuous refactoring.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, proactively proposing new approaches to improve the technology stack.
• Participate in code reviews, providing mentorship to junior engineers, and championing best practices in software development and testing.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions, collaborating with architects and senior engineers to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Engage in knowledge-sharing activities, such as tech talks and workshops, to foster a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
• Work with other developers and team members to implement complex features, enhance existing functionality, and ensure the delivery of high-quality code.
• Provide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability considerations to ensure that the overall solution meets the desired objectives.
• Utilize and create automated testing frameworks, preferably using BDD, to ensure high-quality, bug-free software.
• Drive the adoption of CI/CD pipelines for backend applications, automating the build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Leverage expertise to design and implement efficient and scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
• Requires one (1) year of experience in each of the following:
○ CI/CD practices and tools, including Jenkins and Git.
○ DevOps methodologies and principles, with a focus on automation and infrastructure as code.
○ Programming languages such as Java and Python, with a strong understanding of backend development.
○ Working with data formats such as XML, JSON, and proficiency in HTML and CSS for integration purposes.
○ Agile methodologies or SAFe Software Development Principles.
○ Frameworks such as Spring Boot for Java applications and experience with Python frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django).
○ Designing and implementing RESTful APIs and working with SOAP or Web Service APIs.
○ Containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
○ Project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Rally, or Confluence.
○ SQL programming and database management, including experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
○ Software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including software testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting.
○ Domain support for healthcare or retail organizations, with an understanding of industry-specific challenges and solutions.
○ Experience with AI and agentic solutions, contributing to the development of intelligent systems and automation.

Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, RESTful APIs) and how they integrate with front-end applications.
• Experience in Agile methodologies and familiarity with tools like JIRA or Trello.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices in web development.

Education

• Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
