Join our team of Software Engineers to build the next generation service platforms for AWS, EC2, and our customers. These services are key components of the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) web service. Our platform handles a significant load of Internet traffic generated by both internal and external customers building solutions on EC2. The team uses Java, Kotlin, Typescript, Python, Ruby, Go, and C++ alongside Native AWS services and Amazon‑internal tools. You are expected to have strong programming fundamentals and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain stable, scalable, and performant software solutions. Write and support code that is easy to understand and pragmatic. Own and contribute to quality designs and solutions, solving complex problems with limited guidance. Self‑manage and collaborate with other engineers and teams to influence EC2 architecture at Amazon scale. Participate in a Dev Ops model, including code reviews, continuous integration, and on‑call rotations. Maintain a work‑life balance while contributing to high‑quality deliverables. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship). 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new and existing systems. Experience programming with at least one modern software language. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
