As a Lead Software Engineer – Cloud Platform Engineer/Azure at JPMorgan Chase, you are part of the Corporate Technology Infrastructure Platform team, an agile team that enhances, builds, and delivers trusted market‑leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As a core technical contributor, you conduct critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas and business functions to support the firm’s business objectives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Execute creative software solutions, design, develop and troubleshoot, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or simplify complex problems.
  • Develop secure, high‑quality production code; review and debug code written by others.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups and internal teams to drive outcomes‑oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading‑edge technologies.
  • Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Formal training or certification on system design concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands‑on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing and operational stability.
  • Hands‑on experience in Python, Terraform and public cloud (Azure).
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, applicant resiliency and security.
  • Experience with a public cloud provider (Azure, AWS).
  • Understanding of public cloud architecture patterns for identity, networking, compute and management.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform/Bicep/ARM on Azure.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript and Groovy.
  • Hands‑on experience building CI/CD pipelines and scripts for deployment of Azure resources.
  • Hands‑on experience designing solutions and driving implementation on the Azure platform.
  • Experience applying enterprise architecture patterns on Azure Cloud integrating with on‑prem systems.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Experience in Identity and Access Management.
  • Experience in the banking and finance services industry.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and applying them as needed.
