Job Title: Software Engineer (III) - Core Engineer III
Location: Chennai
Work Type: Hybrid (4 Days work From Office)
Position Description:
- We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer passionate about learning new skills and solving challenging problems in a collaborative, high-craftsmanship environment.
- You'll use pair-programming, TDD, CI/CD, and AI-assisted engineering practices to ship quality code fast - working across React.js (frontend) and Java + Spring Boot (backend/APIs) on Google Cloud Platform, alongside AI-native tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, and LLM-powered agents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering & Delivery
- Build and maintain features across frontend (React.js) and backend/APIs with consistent quality.
- Develop scalable platforms following all NFRs; support migrations.
- Collaborate with Architects and UX/Design (Figma) on technical and UI design.
- Automate unit/integration tests (JUnit, Jest, Selenium) and performance monitoring.
- AI-Augmented Workflow
- Use AI-assisted IDEs/agents (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) across the SDLC - coding, review, testing, docs - applying judgment on when human review is needed.
- Practice responsible "vibe coding": rapid prototyping with AI while maintaining rigor and security.
- Apply token/context optimization (repo hygiene, scoped @file/@folder referencing, .cursorignore, session management).
- Integrate LLMs/AI models for feature development and rapid prototyping ("fail fast" mindset).
- Help refine internal AI tooling standards (rules files, MCP integrations, prompt templates).
- Review code for AI-generated quality, hallucination risks, and security implications.
- Agile & Collaboration
- Champion Agile and Software Craftsmanship practices; participate in Pair Programming, TDD, DevOps, CI/CD, SAST/DAST.
- Collaborate with Product Managers/Owners on value-driven delivery.
- Engage in stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint demos.
- Use Splunk/Dynatrace for monitoring; support on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications:
- B.E. / B.Tech / M.C.A. or equivalent.
- 2-5 years full-stack development experience (frontend + backend).
- Hands-on React.js (or Angular/Vue) component architecture, state management, hooks.
- Strong HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript skills; responsive UI design.
- Hands-on Java + Spring Boot (MVC, JDBC, Cloud) and REST/SOAP API design.
- Experience with GCP or equivalent; cloud-native development.
- Practical experience with at least one AI-native coding tool (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf) and quick adaptability to new tools.
- Working knowledge of context/token optimization techniques.
- Understanding of AI/LLM integration concepts.
- Testing experience: Unit, integration, regression, load (JUnit, Jest, Selenium).
- Familiarity with code quality tools (SonarQube, Checkmarx, 42Crunch).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle).
- Comfortable with Slack, IntelliJ, VS Code, Figma.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to MCP or similar AI tool-integration standards.
- Experience maintaining shared AI rules/config files for a team.
- Exposure to frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite), micro-frontends.
- Mentoring experience on AI-assisted workflows.
- Exposure to Google AI tools (Vertex AI, Gemini).
- Prompt engineering/template design experience.
