Job Title: Software Engineer (III) - Core Engineer III
Location: Chennai
Work Type: Hybrid (4 Days work From Office)
Position Description:
- Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs.
- They are involved in the entire software development lifecycle including designing software architecture, writing code, testing for quality and deploying the software to meet customer requirements.
- Full-stack software engineering roles, who can develop all components of software including user interface and server side also fall within this job function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers to deeply understand their use-cases, pain points, and requirements, showcasing empathy and advocating for user-centric software solutions
- Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering using various tools, languages, frameworks, methodologies (like agile) and technologies
- Assess the requirements of the software application or service and determine the most suitable technology stack, integration method, deployment strategy, etc.
- Create high-level software architecture designs that outline the overall structure, components, and interfaces of the application
- Collaborate with cross functional teams like product owners, designers, architects etc.
- Define and implement software test strategy, guidelines, policies and processes in line with organization vision, industry regulations and market best practices.
- Work on continuously improving performance and optimizing the application and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
- Familiar with programming practices, such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
- Support security practices to safeguard user data including encryption and anonymization.
- Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces
- Develop and maintain back-end applications like APIs and microservices using server-side languages
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver their solutions, and are monitoring and participating in solutions for new stack layers, often involving industry collaboration

Experience Required:
- Engineer III Exp: Prac. In 2 coding lang. or adv. Prac. in 1 lang. 6+ years in IT; 4+ years in development
Experience Preferred:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field. Prior IT experience within the client's Company, an OEM automotive company, or Customer Service/Extended Service Business IT systems.
- Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Design Principles and fundamental data modelling.
- Familiarity with eXtreme Programming (XP) practices and a passion for working in a pair-programming environment.
- Advanced CI/CD pipeline experience utilizing tools such as Terraform, SonarQube, Maven, Gradle, and Apigee X.
- Multi-cloud platform experience (Google Cloud Platform, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure).
- Experience with machine learning, mathematical modeling, and data analysis is a plus.
- Experience with Agile management tools (e.g., Jira, CA Agile Central/Rally) for tracking backlogs, iterations, and user stories.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex decision-making in a rapidly changing environment.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
- Proven leadership abilities in guiding junior developers and sharing knowledge with peers.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience with micro frontend architecture and familiarity with event-driven architecture principles.
- Exposure to advanced frontend technologies like TypeScript, Java, or Next.js is a plus.

Additional Information :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in ComputerScience, Information Systems, or a related field. 8+ years of progressive IT experience in Software Engineering, Architecture, and Agile Frameworks.
- 6+ years of Full Stack development experience, specifically with Core Java, Spring Boot, and React.js and/or Angular.
- 5+ years of experience in the following areas: Cloud Services: GCP or similar platforms (Cloud Run, Cloud DB, Secret Mgr, GCS, Big Query, Terraform, etc.).
- Database Management: Modern databases, both relational and nonrelational (e.g., Cloud DB, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server).
- Agile & DevOps Practices: Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD processes. Ability to integrate automated testing and validation in the UI development process.
- Deploying software using tools like Tekton, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Git.
- Strong front-end development skills (JavaScript, CSS, HTML) and knowledge of UI design and front-end tools (Webpack, Redux, PrimeNG/Bootstrap).
- Experience developing API solutions and utilizing API gateways.
- Knowledge of performance testing frameworks (Mocha, Jest, Jasmine, Karma, JUnit).
- Experience with Cloud Monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.).
