EarnIn is seeking a Software Engineer - Frameworks to contribute to the design, development, and evolution of the shared frameworks and libraries that power our microservices and APIs across multiple runtimes, with a primary focus on Golang and secondary support for Kotlin/Spring Boot.
As part of the Developer Experience team, you will help strengthen the foundational plumbing of our services, including bootstrappers, observability, authentication, communication protocols, and CI/CD scaffolding.
You will create solutions that reduce complexity for developers, enabling them to build high-quality, scalable systems faster.
In this role, you'll collaborate closely with teammates and cross-functional partners, contribute to framework features through thoughtful implementation, and advocate for approaches that improve both developer experience and customer outcomes.
You will take ownership of your work, balance speed with quality, and model EarnIn's values by being creative, responsible, and customer-focused.
This position will ideally be a hybrid role based in our Mexico City office, as part of our expanding site locations.
However, the team is open to remote work for the right talent.
EarnIn provides excellent employee benefits, including healthcare, internet/cell phone reimbursement, a learning and development stipend, and potential opportunities to travel to our Palo Alto HQ.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Contribute to the design and implementation of frameworks and libraries in Golang that support bootstrapping, shared services, observability, authentication, RPC/REST tooling, and CI/CD templates.
- Collaborate with the Kotlin framework owner and other engineers to ensure cross-runtime consistency, thereby unifying the developer experience across Go, Kotlin, and other runtimes.
- Build and enhance reusable components for logging, tracing, metrics, configuration management, rate limiting, and service-to-service communication.
- Keep frameworks aligned with evolving industry standards (e.g., OpenTelemetry, gRPC/HTTP middleware, Go upgrades, Spring Boot integrations).
- Participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing ideas, raising concerns, and learning from more senior engineers.
- Deliver solutions that balance speed, quality, and scalability, ensuring testing and monitoring are integrated into your work.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, anticipate potential roadblocks, and communicate clearly when help is needed.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3+ years of software development experience, with contributions in framework, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
- Proficiency in Golang; experience with Kotlin/Java (Spring Boot) or other backend runtimes (C#, Python, TypeScript) is a plus.
- Understanding of service-oriented and event-driven architectures, including gRPC, REST, or messaging/eventing systems.
- Familiarity with observability stacks, OpenTelemetry, and performance considerations.
- Exposure to AWS managed services, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly convey ideas, listen with empathy, and advocate for both developers and customers.
- A bias for action—experiments with solutions, learns from mistakes, and takes responsibility for outcomes.
