Robotics Team
In addition to our core business, Workstream is home to a small, fast‑moving Robotics team focused on advancing the next generation of artificial intelligence and robotics. We partner with a leading AI and robotics company to produce high‑quality, large‑scale egocentric (first‑person) video datasets that help train advanced AI models. The Robotics team develops scalable data collection and annotation pipelines that enable the efficient creation of high‑quality training datasets, helping AI systems better understand human actions, environments, and everyday interactions. We are also building a new category of connected hardware designed to operate reliably throughout the day in thousands of homes and businesses, shaping the future of intelligent systems and real‑world AI applications.

Position
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our growing engineering team. This is a full‑time, hybrid position with 2 days a week in‑office (every Tuesday and Thursday) to support close cross‑functional collaboration.
Day In The Life
- You are a seasoned Software Engineer with a strong background in full‑stack application development.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and peer engineers to deliver well‑scoped product features.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders across Engineering, Product, GTM, and Customer Success teams.
- You advocate for and practice test‑driven development (TDD) to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, reliable software.
- Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Who You Are
- 3 to 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in at least one language among Python, Java, PHP, or JavaScript, with experience developing full‑stack, high‑performance, and high‑availability applications.
- Strong foundation in programming principles and design patterns.
- Experience with building scalable systems and a test‑driven CI/CD commitment to quality software development.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB; comprehensive understanding of when to choose each.
- Knowledge of caching mechanisms such as Redis or Memcached.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Demonstrated experience in designing distributed systems with a holistic perspective.
- Keep up with the latest technological trends and continuously improve productivity.
- Bilingual in English and Chinese preferred.

- Experience with NextJS or other front‑end technologies.

Salary Range
In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is between C$125,000 and C$165,000 (US$90,000 – 120,000). This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
