Join the DevTools team at Grab, where we build cloud engineering platforms, developer tools, automation systems, and AI-enabled engineering workflows that help teams operate effectively, securely, and at scale.

Our mission is to improve developer productivity and platform reliability through well designed tooling, automation, and platform services, allowing our builder teams to move faster while operating securely and at scale.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineer who can write code, build platform systems, and automate infrastructure at scale.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and work onsite in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. This role is suited for someone with strong cloud engineering fundamentals, infrastructure automation experience, and the ability to build reliable internal platforms, integrations, APIs, scripts, and developer tooling.

This is not only an operations role. We are looking for someone who can contribute to production code, build maintainable systems, and solve platform engineering problems end to end.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will build and maintain platform systems, internal tools, automation, and integrations.
• You will write clean, maintainable code for APIs, scripts, infrastructure automation, and developer tooling.
• You will manage and improve DevOps platforms such as GitLab, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, and CI/CD systems.
• You will troubleshoot cloud, Linux, CI/CD, and platform issues.
• You will work with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable platform solutions.
• You will use AI tools and automation to improve productivity and delivery speed.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience in software engineering, or platform engineering roles
• Strong coding ability in Python, Go, shell scripting, or similar languages.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong Unix/Linux, scripting, troubleshooting, and systems fundamentals.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Ability to build maintainable systems and follow good engineering practices.
• Openness to learning and using AI tools and automation.
