Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated
Senior Software Engineer Java to join our Banking and Financial Services team in St. Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in
Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Oracle Database, Redis, Cloud Platforms (PCF/AWS), CI/CD pipelines, and GitHub Copilot. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications while following modern software engineering and DevOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Build and enhance scalable Microservices-based applications following cloud-native architecture principles.
Develop secure and high-performance RESTful APIs and backend services.
Design and optimize database solutions using Oracle Database.
Implement caching strategies using Redis to improve application performance.
Develop, deploy, and manage applications on cloud platforms such as PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) and AWS.
Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for seamless application delivery.
Utilize GitHub Copilot to improve development productivity and code quality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Architects.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and best practices.
Troubleshoot production issues and perform performance tuning and optimization.
Contribute to Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

6+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17 and object-oriented programming principles.
Extensive experience with Spring Boot and Microservices Architecture.
Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
Hands-on experience with Oracle Database, SQL, and performance tuning.
Experience implementing distributed caching using Redis.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry).
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and DevOps practices.
Experience with Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, and related development tools.
Practical experience using GitHub Copilot to accelerate software development.
Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Banking or Financial Services projects.
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with messaging technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana, or Prometheus.
Understanding of secure coding practices and enterprise application security.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
