The customer is one of the largest online gambling companies in the world, with over 26 million clients across all markets. The company was founded in 1997 and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm in 2004. What You’ll Do

• Architect and Design: Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable, high-performance microservices. Ensure solutions are maintainable, extensible, and aligned with best practices
• Hands-on Coding: Deliver high-quality, well-tested code, setting high standards for technical excellence within the team. Ensure code is optimized for security, performance, and resilience
• Team Contribution & Ownership: Take accountability for your own deliverables and actively support team goals, ensuring timely and impactful outcomes
• Code Quality and Best Practices: Promote best practices through code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and secure coding
• Collaboration & Uplift: Work closely with architects, product owners, and fellow engineers to deliver reliable solutions. Foster collaboration within the team, and support colleagues where needed to ensure smooth delivery
• Continuous Learning & AI Curiosity: Stay current with advancements in Java, microservices, and cloud-native technologies. Explore and share insights on how AI tools can improve productivity and engineering workflows
• Mentorship: Guide junior team members by sharing knowledge, offering feedback, and encouraging growth. Help the team build stronger coding and design skills
• Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to team and organizational learning by presenting in internal forums, sharing insights about best practices, trends, and emerging technologies
• Problem Solving: Tackle technical challenges within your domain, proposing innovative solutions and working with the team to ensure scalable, secure, and performant results

What You Bring

• Experience: 8+ years of hands-on software development experience with a focus on Java and microservices
• Technical Expertise:
  • Strong proficiency in Java, including advanced features and best practices
  • Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and integration challenges
  • Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, messaging systems, and reactive programming
  • Proven ability to build and maintain scalable, high-performance, secure applications
  • Experience working on event-driven systems for high-traffic applications, with a focus on fault tolerance and resilience
• Design Patterns: Working knowledge of software and distributed design patterns; ability to apply them to build maintainable and extensible systems
• Quality Focus: Demonstrated commitment to code quality, testing, CI/CD, and secure coding
• Team Mindset: Takes ownership of deliverables and supports team outcomes. Works collaboratively and constructively
• Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Experience mentoring peers or junior engineers. Comfortable sharing knowledge through discussions, documentation, or presentations
• Passion for Learning: Curiosity for modern technologies and openness to exploring AI/ML tools to boost productivity
• Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Understanding of security best practices, secure coding, and compliance standards
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, CI/CD pipelines)
• Experience using AI-powered developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI)
