Software Engineer Java

Role : Software Engineer, AHU Sustaining Engineering Group
We are seeking a motivated, results-oriented Software Engineer to join our Air Handler Units (AHU) Sustaining Engineering group at Carrier.
In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining software-based engineering tools that drive our AHU Engineering team.
You will have ownership of our engineering database, which is crucial for our AHU product line and future developments.
This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects, collaborate with a dedicated team, and contribute to our company's goals.
Responsibilities
Software Development :
- Translate Engineering rules into executable Java/VBA/Java or Javascript code.
- Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.
- Write well-designed, testable code.
- Integrate software components into a fully
functional software system.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
Team Collaboration:
- Contribute to the setup of general guidelines and standards for software development.
- Provide guidance to the team on Software technical implementations.
- Comply with project plans and industry standards.
Product Optimization:
- Maintain and improve the performance of existing software.
- Test and maintain software products to ensure functionality and optimization.
- Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary.
Qualifications Mandatory :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced (2-4 years) programming experience using Java/Javascript or C/C++.
- Experience with Git and Perforce software version control tools.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with Object-Oriented Java Language.
- Strong analytical and learning skills--.
Preferred :
- Parametric design experience.
- Previous experience with a manufacturing environment.
- Experience/exposure with the HVAC industry.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Experience with Agile development methodology .
- Sheet metal, mechanical, and electrical design experience.
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong adaptability to new technologies and tools.
- Effective time management skills.
