As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you are an integral part of an agile team that enhances, builds, and delivers trusted technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will lead end-to-end delivery across front-end, backend services, and data layers to support critical business objectives. You will partner closely with product and stakeholders to clarify requirements, manage delivery readiness, and drive outcomes. You will also raise engineering standards through strong reviews, automation, and responsible use of AI-assisted development practices.
Job responsibilities
Design, develop, and deliver end-to-end full-stack solutions across user interfaces, backend services and application programming interfaces, and database scripts Build scalable and resilient applications using modern frameworks, microservices, and integration patterns Create secure, high-quality production code with reliable algorithms, observability, and well-managed system integrations Translate business objectives into actionable epics and stories with clear acceptance criteria and definition of done Drive stakeholder engagement through working sessions and reviews, capturing decisions and ensuring follow-through Maintain a delivery-ready backlog through refinement, decomposition, prioritization, and sequencing aligned to customer value Identify risks, dependencies, and trade-offs early, and propose mitigation plans to protect timelines and outcomes Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation. Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and agile ceremonies while optimizing performance, scalability, and reliability Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team. Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience Advanced proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, with experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment Full software development life cycle experience across backend technologies such as Java with Spring Boot and Python Frontend development experience using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks such as React and or Angular Database experience with Oracle and or Microsoft SQL Server, including querying and performance tuning fundamentals Reporting and visualization experience using Tableau or similar tools Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery practices, including unit, functional, and regression testing, and continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines Strong understanding of agile delivery, application resiliency, and secure engineering practices Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security. Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
