Role Overview
We are looking for an Associate Software Engineer with 2–4 years of hands-on experience in Java application development. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Microservices, and Relational Databases. Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure/GCP), CI/CD, and containerization is an added advantage. The candidate should be capable of independently developing features, participating in code reviews, and contributing to all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Responsibilities
· Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java applications and microservices.
· Develop and enhance RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
· Collaborate with product owners, architects, and team members to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
· Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
· Develop unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
· Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
· Troubleshoot application issues, debug defects, and support production incidents.
· Contribute to application deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.
· Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and actively participate in sprint ceremonies.
· Continuously learn and adopt modern software engineering practices and tools.
Requirements
Required Skills
· 2–4 years of experience in Java application development.
· Strong proficiency in Java 8+, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Collections, Exception Handling, and Multithreading fundamentals.
· Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and developing RESTful APIs.
· Good understanding of Microservices Architecture and API design principles.
· Experience with JPA/Hibernate or similar ORM frameworks.
· Strong SQL skills with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
· Experience using Git and collaborative version control workflows.
· Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
· Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
· Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) is desirable.
· Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure/GCP), Docker, or Kubernetes is a plus.
· Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
· Good communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
· Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
· Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
· Basic understanding of application monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus).
· Awareness of secure coding practices and performance optimization techniques. Demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks and collaborate effectively within an Agile team.
