A leading Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Python Developer / Systems Engineer to join a specialised operational engineering team supporting critical automation platforms and high-availability production systems. The successful Python Developer / Systems Engineer will be offered a long-term 36-month contract with extension options and flexible hybrid working arrangements in Canberra.
- The successful Python Developer / Systems Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Developing, enhancing and supporting automation systems using Python, Flask, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and MySQL.
- Providing operational support for production systems including troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, remediation and system improvements.
- Managing application and operating system changes, including Linux/RHEL environments, patching activities and software releases.
- Implementing monitoring, observability and reporting capabilities to improve system performance, reliability and operational outcomes.
To be successful, the Python Developer / Systems Engineer will demonstrate:
- Proven experience developing and supporting automation systems using Python, Flask, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and MySQL.
- Experience supporting production systems within high-availability operational environments.
- Strong experience managing Linux/RHEL operating systems, application changes and release activities.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, observability and performance analytics.
