T. Rowe Price is seeking a Lead Software Engineer who has a passion, vision and technical acumen to help lead strategic initiatives and meet the needs of the Individual Investors Secure Digital Experience business. You’ll be hands‑on coding through the entire development lifecycle as well as leading an Agile team of back‑end and front‑end developers. We are transforming client experiences through cloud computing, lightweight Java microservices, single‑page application front ends (React/Angular), and highly resilient software services.
ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer with 8+ years of full stack development expertise including strong UI development skills in React along with backend java skills developing Springboot microservices on AWS infrastructure. You will:
- Mentor and lead other developers enabling them to work independently
- Lead development efforts, provide input into architectural and design decisions, provide realistic estimates.
- Design and develop solutions working with other internal groups such as architecture, dev ops and enterprise security to ensure alignment with enterprise technology direction and standards.
- Contribute to code reviews and provide feedback
- Lead discussions to drive tactical vs. strategic decisions, outlining trade-offs
- Experience working directly with business partners
- Can articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions
- 8+ years of progressive Java development
- Extensive experience with ReactJS
- Experience mentoring and leading development teams
- Expertise designing, developing, deploying, and supporting java-based solutions
- Able to quickly learn new technologies and stay abreast of industry trends
- Able to work with existing data models and schemas and suggest changes and improvements
- Experience in AWS cloud technologies
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work FlexibilityThis role is eligible for remote work up to three days a week.
