Role overview
Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Lead Software Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Argentina. Our client is one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing job sites.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Software Engineer, with a strong emphasis on front-end development.
- Solid back-end development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Proven ability to independently own features from design through production deployment.
- Experience breaking down ambiguous requirements into actionable technical solutions.
- Strong experience estimating work, managing scope, and making sound technical trade-offs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience collaborating directly with Product Managers and Engineering Leads.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision in a fast-paced Agile environment.
- Experience building and maintaining production-quality web applications
Nice to Have:
- Previous experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer, or serving as the technical owner for major initiatives.
- Experience developing SEO-focused or high-traffic consumer web applications.
- Experience collaborating with UX Designers and Marketing teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical guidance within a team.
- Familiarity with performance optimization, accessibility, and web best practices.
- Experience working in large-scale, distributed engineering organizations.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern development practices.
Responsibilities:
- Drive SEO marketing initiatives through full-stack engineering.
- Own work end-to-end — scoping projects, estimating timelines, making sound technical decisions, and delivering with minimal hand-holding.
- Work directly with a product manager and an engineering lead as primary points of contact, independently managing those relationships: translating requirements, negotiating scope, surfacing blockers, and keeping delivery on track.
- Collaborate occasionally with UX designers and marketing partners as needed.
- Navigate ambiguous engineering challenges, make tradeoffs independently, and ship production-quality code.
- Exercise senior-level judgment on when to move fast and when to ask questions
