Job Description

Position: Solution Designer

1. End-to-End Solution Design capabilities (Westpac experienced- Nice to have)
2. Knowledge / experience with Westpac core systems (Vision plus) and enterprise data platforms (ADAPT / DDEP / Data Mesh)
3. Mandatory hands on development experience in at least one backend language: Java or .NET.
4. Strong hands on experience with RDBMS, including data modelling, stored procedures, complex SQL queries, and performance tuning.
5. Ability to work across the full technology stack, including ReactJS, AngularJS, Java, .NET, Node.js, relational databases, and Kafka topics/listeners.
6. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and event driven systems.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical designs, decisions, and trade offs to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
8. Keen interest in continuous learning, with the ability to stay current with evolving technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver high level design (HLD) and review the detailed technical design (DTD) at component level, covering APIs, UI components, databases, and messaging integrations.
• Translate business and high level requirements into clear, implementable components.
• Design and integrate solutions across UI, backend services, SQL Server databases, and Kafka based messaging.
• Provide hands on technical leadership, guiding development teams through design and implementation.
• Participate in design and code reviews, ensuring adherence to architectural, coding, and performance standards.
• Work with project managers and stakeholders on technical estimation, planning, and delivery.
• Ensure solutions comply with security, risk, and compliance standards.
