As a Solution Engineer for Data in the Technology Sales team, you help enterprise customers reimagine what is possible with their data. You partner closely with technical and business leaders to translate complex challenges into clear solution paths, ensuring that every engagement moves customers closer to their strategic goals.
In this role, you are at the forefront of data transformation, guiding customers as they unlock value from their data estate with Microsoft Fabric, Azure databases, analytics, and artificial intelligence solutions. You lead hands-on customer engagements such as proof of concept projects, hackathons, and architecture workshops that influence technology strategy and measurable business outcomes. You build deep expertise across cloud platforms, analytics, governance, and artificial intelligence while continuously learning and shaping how organizations modernize, migrate, and innovate with their data. - Engage proactively with customers to build credibility as a trusted advisor by combining customer context, solution expertise, and technical and industry knowledge.
- Lead technical discussions, demonstrations, and proof of concept activities to ensure technical wins for core and adjacent Microsoft technologies, establishing clear rules of engagement and handoffs across virtual teams.
- Design and present solution architectures that span data, analytics, and artificial intelligence scenarios, driving cross-workload support for Microsoft solutions that address customer modernization and migration needs.
- Act as a liaison in partner sell-with scenarios, coordinating partner and internal resources throughout engagements and identifying partner skill or resource gaps that can inform internal readiness plans.
- Capture market insights from customer engagements and feed them back to product, engineering, and account teams to refine strategies, strengthen Microsoft’s value proposition, and shape customer success and consumption plans.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Master's / Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- AND several years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience, including several years of experience with cloud databases, analytics solutions and or databases on premises, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
- OR equivalent experience.
- This roles involves collaboration with local customers, therefore fluency in German and/or French is required.

- Database: DP-800 SQL AI Developer Associate
- Database: DP-420 Azure Cosmos DB Developer
- DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate
Solution Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Switzerland is CHF 126,000.00 - CHF 208,700.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
