Role Description
The BESS Solution Engineer (Junior/Senior) is a full-time, on-site role based in Bologna. This position is responsible for designing and configuring battery energy storage system (BESS) solutions for utility-scale, commercial, and industrial projects, ensuring that technical proposals meet customer and regulatory requirements. The role includes supporting presales activities with feasibility studies, system sizing, technical presentations, and preparation of tender and proposal documentation. The engineer will collaborate with software, integration, and project teams to define system architecture, interface requirements, and control strategies, and to coordinate testing and commissioning activities. Day-to-day responsibilities also include providing technical consulting to customers, supporting the sales team in customer meetings, responding to technical inquiries, and contributing feedback to product and R&D teams to refine future BESS offerings .
Qualifications
Strong software-related skills, including familiarity with Software Development concepts and system configuration tools for BESS or power system
- s.Experience providing technical Consulting services, including requirements analysis, solution design, and customer-facing technical suppor
- t.Background supporting Sales and Presales activities, such as preparing technical proposals, conducting presentations, and participating in customer negotiation
- s.Knowledge of system Integration for energy storage or power systems, including interoperability with inverters, EMS, SCADA, and grid infrastructur
- e.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems, Automation, or a related technical fiel
- d.Understanding of BESS architecture, grid connection requirements, and standards relevant to utility-scale and C&I application
- s.Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, technical specifications, and project documentation, and to perform basic system sizing and performance calculation
- s.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural team
- s.Fluency in English; working knowledge of Italian is highly beneficial. Experience in the energy storage, renewable energy, or power electronics industry is a plus.
