Responsibilities
- The SQL Developer with TOAD proficiency, focusing on Oracle database development and management, leveraging TOAD as a primary tool.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining complex PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views for various business functionalities.
- SQL querying, optimization, and performance tuning using techniques such as EXPLAIN PLAN, SQL*TRACE, AUTOTRACE, and query hints.
- Database object management including creating/modifying tables, indexes, materialized views, and other schema components.
- Data manipulation and ETL tasks, potentially using PL/SQL scripts, SQL Loader, or other tools.
- Performance tuning to resolve bottlenecks and optimize indexing, queries, and database configuration.
- Code review and adherence to coding standards, maintaining code quality.
- Troubleshooting and debugging within the database environment, including analyzing error logs.
- Documentation of database designs, procedures, and processes.
- Collaborating with other developers, business analysts, and DBAs to ensure project success.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience as an Oracle SQL/PL/SQL Developer.
- Extensive experience with Oracle databases (versions such as 11g, 12c, 19c).
- Strong knowledge of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling.
- Expertise in TOAD for Oracle, and experience with Oracle SQL Developer.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Reinsurance, insurance, and finance knowledge/experience.
