We are looking for an experienced Senior SQL Developer to take ownership of a critical SQL Server environment and play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising database solutions.
This is an opportunity for a strong SQL professional to influence technical direction, improve database performance, support business-critical systems, and mentor other developers. All the while, working within a collaborative technology team and playing a key role in improving SQL capability across the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimisation of SQL Server database solutions
- Develop and optimise complex T-SQL including stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers
- Troubleshoot database performance issues, including query optimisation, blocking, and deadlocks
- Support database security, backups, recovery, and high availability solutions
- Work with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver effective technical solutions
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior developers
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server development
- Strong T-SQL skills and experience with SQL Server 2019+
- Experience designing relational databases and data models
- Background working with high-volume transactional databases
- Experience with ETL processes (SSIS or similar)
- Strong knowledge of SQL performance tuning and execution plans
- Experience with SQL Server Agent, backups, disaster recovery, and security
- Exposure to Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance is desirable
