Technology stack: Primary DBMS: Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and above), including SSMS, SSIS, and SSRS
- Cloud Platforms: Azure, Snowflake
- ETL Tools: Azure Data Factory, SSIS
- Monitoring & Maintenance: Redgate, SentryOne (or equivalent)
- Scripting & Automation: T-SQL, PowerShell
- Version Control: Git (Azure DevOps or similar)
- Responsibilities: Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases in both on-prem and cloud environments
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies ensuring business continuity
- Monitor system performance and proactively address issues related to database performance, indexing, and capacity planning
- Collaborate with development and BI teams to support data integration, ETL processes, and reporting solutions
- Manage security and access controls following compliance standards
- Participate in database architecture planning and migrations to Snowflake where applicable
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for database procedures and architecture
- Support and troubleshoot production incidents with a sense of urgency and precision
- 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise-level environments
- Strong proficiency in T-SQL and performance tuning (query optimization, indexing, execution plans)
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery setups (Always On, Log Shipping, etc.)
- Solid understanding of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based databases, particularly Snowflake
- Familiarity with Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent cloud tools
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure
- Proficient in scripting with PowerShell
- Nice to have: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with MongoDB is valued
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server and/or Snowflake
