Job Title: Squad Lead (Java, Agile DevOps)

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Squad Lead to guide a team of engineers in delivering high-quality software solutions. This role involves leading Agile DevOps practices, supporting sprint execution, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. While technical expertise is important, this role primarily focuses on leadership, coordination, and delivery oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and manage a team of developers in an Agile DevOps environment.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure alignment with development standards and best practices.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Support the team in resolving blockers and ensuring smooth delivery.
Agile & Sprint Management
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Ensure adherence to Agile principles and Definition of Done.
- Track progress and support timely delivery of sprint goals.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and deliver features.
- Translate business requirements into actionable technical deliverables.
- Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies effectively to stakeholders.
Solution Delivery & Quality
- Oversee application performance, scalability, and security considerations.
- Support troubleshooting of complex technical issues.
- Encourage adoption of automated testing, continuous integration, and DevOps practices.
- Ensure proper documentation of systems and processes.
Continuous Improvement
- Promote best practices in software development and delivery.
- Encourage innovation and continuous learning within the team.
- Stay informed on relevant industry trends and technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- Approximately 10 12 years of experience in software development.
- At least 6 years of experience in a senior engineering role.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in Agile environments.
- Experience in providing technical leadership and guiding development teams.
- Experience in domains such as retail, digital, or internet banking is advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., JSON Web Tokens).
- Experience with development and collaboration tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and automated testing practices.
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
