Role Summary
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer.The candidate will own end-to-end data pipeline design and development on Azure, working across data ingestion, transformation, warehousing, and reporting layers, with additional exposure to SAP Basis / database administration considered a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
• Develop and optimize big data processing workflows using Apache Spark and PySpark.
• Build and maintain data models and semantic layers using Azure Analysis Services for reporting and analytics.
• Develop dashboards and reports in Microsoft Power BI for business stakeholders.
• Write and optimize complex queries in MS SQL / SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using Azure DevOps.
• Administer and monitor Azure Cloud infrastructure supporting data platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and performance optimization across pipelines and platforms.
• (Value-add) Support SAP Basis Administration and Oracle Database Administration tasks where required.
Required Skills & Experience
• 5-8 years of experience in Data Engineering within IT services or a related industry.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Spark, PySpark, and Delta Lake.
• Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Analysis Services.
• Strong SQL skills (MS SQL) for data modeling, transformation, and performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD and Azure Cloud Administration.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation tasks.
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.
• Exposure to SAP Basis Administration and/or Oracle Database Administration is an added advantage.
Preferred Certifications
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
• Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (or equivalent Azure certification)
• Any additional Microsoft/Azure or Data Engineering certifications will be a plus
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering — Computer Science / IT / Computer Systems Technology or related field
