Senior Staff Engineer - API, Full Stack

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Development

Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications and APIs using modern cloud-native architectures

Full-stack development initiatives across backend services, integrations, and cloud platforms

Develop and unit test high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code following engineering best practices

Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot, Python, and Go

Implement secure and scalable API management solutions using Gravitee API Gateway

Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and engineering efficiency

Contribute to cloud-native application development and deployment on AWS environments

Technical Leadership & Delivery

Technical & Delivery leadership for the team

Lead and coach team members on architecture, coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices

Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure successful solution delivery

Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and solution estimations

Drive engineering excellence through automation, reusable frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives

Agile & Collaboration

Adhere to Agile Scrum practices and actively participate in sprint ceremonies

Work closely with distributed and global delivery teams to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Support production releases, troubleshooting, and performance optimization activities

Quality Engineering & Automation

Implement unit testing and automation frameworks to improve code quality and reliability

Promote test-driven development and engineering quality standards across the team

Support CI/CD implementation and deployment automation initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

10 12 years of overall software engineering and application development experience

Strong experience in API design and enterprise application development

Hands-on experience with AWS cloud-native application development

Strong proficiency in Java Spring Boot, Python, and Go

Experience implementing and managing APIs using Gravitee API Gateway

GenAI tools like GitHub Copilot for AI-assisted software development

Strong understanding of microservices architecture and REST API best practices

Experience working in Agile Scrum delivery environments

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills

Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams

Preferred Skills:

Hands-on experience with Jira and Agile project management tools

Experience with PyTest automation frameworks

Frontend and web application development experience using Angular or React

Exposure to .NET-based application development

Understanding of modern DevOps and CI/CD practices

Ability to lead, coach, and mentor globally distributed teams

Experience working in global delivery models and cross-functional environments

Retail domain experience will be highly valuable
