About R&D:
The R&D organization at ANSR MedTech is being built to support the development, testing, and long-term sustainment of complex, regulated products used at global scale.
This team plays a critical role in engineering excellence, product quality, and operational reliability, working closely with global R&D leaders to deliver against well-defined technical standards, quality systems, and product outcomes.
Unlike a traditional offshore or support model, R&D in India is designed to take on meaningful ownership across the product lifecycle, particularly in areas where scale, focus, and execution discipline are essential.

How the R&D Team Operates:
- Teams are based in India and embedded in day-to-day delivery, not isolated support functions.
- Technical direction, quality standards, and product outcomes are globally aligned, with strong local execution and accountability.
- The organization is built under a Build–Operate–Transfer (BOT) model with ANSR, with responsibilities expanding as the site matures.
- Success is measured by engineering quality, predictable delivery, adherence to quality systems, reduced defects over time, and strong collaboration with global R&D teams.
Role Overview:
Lead a high-performing engineering team building cloud-native, AI-powered data platforms supporting connected medical devices, analytics, and digital experiences. This is a hands-on player/coach role, expected to actively contribute to system design and development (~30–40%) while leading engineering execution and mentoring the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design and delivery of high-scale cloud-native platforms (AWS, Kafka, APIs, data systems)
- Contribute hands-on to architecture, critical code paths, and technical problem solving
- Drive adoption of AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC) including AI-assisted coding, testing, and documentation
- Build production-grade AI systems with strong focus on reliability, observability, and cost control
- Build and integrate AI/LLM-powered capabilities and orchestration using AWS Bedrock
- Design and implement agent-based systems leveraging MuleSoft MCP for enterprise-scale integrations
- Ensure high availability, performance, resilience, and cost optimization
- Define and enforce modern quality strategy, including automation and AI-assisted testing
- Lead performance, scalability, and observability practices
- Build and mentor offshore engineering teams and drive execution discipline
Data Streaming & Operational Data Engineering:
- Design and operate event-driven pipelines for telemetry, APIs, and real-time systems
- Implement lightweight ETL to normalize and enrich data
- Ensure data quality, validation, completeness, and traceability
- Partner with central data engineering team on data contracts and schema alignment
- Enable data readiness for AI and analytics use cases
Qualifications:
- 10+ years software engineering experience
- 5+ years leading engineering teams
- Strong experience with cloud-native distributed systems (AWS required)
- Expertise in streaming systems (Kafka / MSK / Confluent)
- Strong programming skills (Java / Springboot or equivalent)
- Experience with CI/CD, observability, and performance optimization
AI & Modern Engineering:
- Experience building AI-powered applications using AWS Bedrock or similar platforms
- Understanding of prompt design, RAG, and context management
- Experience with agent-based systems and enterprise integration patterns (MuleSoft preferred)
- Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor)
- Familiarity with MCP-based architectures for exposing enterprise data to AI
Data & AI Foundation:
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL, and streaming architectures
- Experience ensuring data quality and reliability
- Understanding that AI performance depends on high-quality, well-structured data
