Sterile Processing Technician
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and other medical equipment. The role requires expertise in high-level disinfection and proper selection of wrapping materials.
This is a 13-week contract position.
Night Shift: 5x8s, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Monday - Friday) with holiday rotation.
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and other medical equipment. The role requires expertise in high-level disinfection and proper selection of wrapping materials.
Responsibilities:
- Perform sterilization and decontamination processes for surgical instruments.
- Assemble and wrap instrument sets and trays according to protocols.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and procedures.
- Maintain inventory and functionality of sterilization equipment.
- Identify and resolve any issues with instrumentation and sterilization processes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
- National Certifications: CBSPD and/or HSPA.
- Experience in Level 1 Trauma center preferred.
- Experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and gynecological cases is a plus.
