Summary Description
We are looking for a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to technically lead structural analysis activities for complex aerospace and/or aeronautical programs. The engineer must have solid experience in static analysis, fatigue analysis, and damage tolerance, with the ability to define methodologies, review calculations, guide less experienced engineers, and support technical decisions related to design and certification.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the full structural development cycle, from loads and analysis criteria definition to certification reports, test support, non-conformance evaluation, and fleet/in-service support. The role requires technical autonomy, engineering judgment, and experience interacting with customers, authorities, multidisciplinary teams, and formal technical reviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead static analysis activities for primary and secondary aircraft structures.
- Define calculation methodologies, margin of safety criteria, and validation approaches.
- Perform and review fatigue analysis, structural life assessments, and cumulative damage evaluations.
- Lead damage tolerance analysis, including crack growth, inspection intervals, and criticality assessments.
- Review finite element models, assumptions, loads, boundary conditions, and technical reports.
- Support certification activities, structural testing, MRB, design changes, and in-service issues.
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, ensuring technical quality and methodological consistency.
Desired Qualifications:
- Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Approximately 8 to 12+ years of experience in structural analysis.
- Strong experience with Nastran, Patran, FEMAP, HyperMesh, Abaqus, ANSYS, or similar FEM tools.
- Advanced knowledge of metallic structures, composite structures, joints, buckling, fatigue, and damage tolerance.
- Familiarity with aerospace certification requirements, substantiation documentation, and applicable standards.
- Advanced technical English for reports, technical reviews, and communication with international customers.
