Our client in the mining sector is recruiting for a Structural Engineer to join their engineering team. The role focuses on developing detailed designs and structural analyses for civil and structural engineering projects, supporting the drawing office, and ensuring compliance with design standards and safety requirements.
The successful candidate will form part of the Project Delivery Team and work closely with project managers, designers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed designs and structural analyses for civil and structural engineering projects.
- Prepare engineering reports.
- Utilize engineering software to create and review models.
- Support the drawing office by guiding the team and reviewing 3D models and drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with design standards.
- Attend progress meetings to monitor project status, addressing any issues that arise.
- Prepare and present technical reports and updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Assess construction progress and provide recommendations for any necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with the team to prepare tender documentation and cost estimates.
- Facilitate meetings with clients and other stakeholders to discuss project updates, challenges, and solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Ensure that all engineering work adheres to relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor''s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years experience in structural design and analysis within mining or heavy industrial projects.
- Professional registration.
- Proficiency in the following software is highly advantageous: Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis, Prokon, and IDEA StatiCa.
- Strong understanding of design standards and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in steel and reinforced concrete design.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Exposure to EPCM or large engineering project environments.
- Experience with 3D modelling and drawing review.
