About The Opportunity
The company is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team for a seismic upgrade project located in Campbell River, BC. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a large-scale infrastructure initiative, with direct involvement in the planning and execution of structural works.
About The Position
This is an On-site Structural Engineer in Campbell River, BC. You will be responsible for supporting field operations through the design and implementation of temporary and permanent structural components. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to ensure engineering standards are upheld throughout the construction process.
Main duties:

Collaborate with field teams to develop concepts and designs for temporary structural solutions
Prepare detailed technical drawings and schematics in coordination with internal and external engineering teams
Design temporary works including concrete formwork, access systems, and lift plans
Review and approve subcontractor shop drawings and welding procedures
Perform material take-offs and generate bills of materials
Conduct quality checks to ensure structural work meets specifications
Provide support during fabrication of temporary and permanent steel structures
Maintain consistent progress reporting to clients, management, and project teams
Engage with clients, consultants, engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and regulatory standards

Requirements:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related field
Registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC or working towards it
Minimum 3–5 years of structural engineering experience, preferably on large infrastructure projects
Experience in hydroelectric projects is considered an asset
Familiarity with WorkSafe BC regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, and related software
Ability to work at heights and in varying outdoor conditions

Compensation details:

Salary : $90–$110K
