Position Title: Senior Structured Cabling Technician
Location: Beltsville, MD 20705 (Most of the sites are local to the DMV, however, there may be travel to a site out of town (3-4 days) as necessary, maybe 20-25%)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead installation and termination of Category 5e, Category 6, Category 6A, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling systems.
- Perform cable routing, pulling, dressing, labeling, and pathway installations.
- Conduct site surveys and review project drawings, floor plans, and specifications.
- Install telecommunications racks, cabinets, cable management systems, and related infrastructure.
- Experience working with conduit, bending, cutting
- Perform copper and fiber testing and certification using Fluke testing equipment.
- Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues.
- Interpret blueprints, telecommunications drawings, and engineering documents.
- Ensure compliance with ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NEC, and customer-specific industry standards.
- Maintain accurate testing documentation, as-built drawings, and installation records.
- Coordinate daily project activities with project managers and customers.
- Train and mentor junior technicians.
- Ensure safety procedures and OSHA requirements are followed.
- Support audiovisual, security, wireless, and network infrastructure deployments.
- Assist with project scheduling and material verification.
- Participate in quality control inspections and project closeout activities.
Basic Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical training in telecommunications or structured cabling preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of structured cabling installation experience.
- Experience with commercial, enterprise, government, and data center environments.
- Extensive experience installing copper and fiber optic infrastructure.
- Proficiency reading telecommunications drawings and construction documents.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications standards and best practices.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass background investigations as required by customers.

- Frequent travel to customer sites.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight schedules.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, work in ceilings, crawl spaces, and construction environments.
- Exposure to construction sites, data centers, telecommunications rooms, and commercial facilities.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
