Position Overview
Software Section Leader – Battle Management Systems Software Department, RTX, Ft. Wayne, IN. This on‑site role requires U.S. citizenship and a valid U.S. government Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one prior to start.
Responsibilities
- Ensure each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement.
- Contribute to the technical oversight of employees in support of their daily work assignments.
- Develop and implement performance assessments and appraisals.
- Plan salary and staffing in alignment with company policies.
- Communicate company and program information to the team.
- Support a major program and maintain adherence to company policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; a STEM degree required.
- Experience with complex systems and software development techniques and tools (C/C++, Java, Ada).
- Experience with design, coding, integration, and testing of large systems.
- Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum, SAFe, and DevSecOps.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim U.S. government Secret clearance on day 1.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in STEM, 3 years of additional experience.
- Proficiency with Atlassian Suite, Jenkins, Eclipse, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, Red Hat and Linux.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, decision‑making, and leadership skills.
- Customer focus and ability to collaborate with leadership, teammates, and suppliers.

Salary
USD 86,800 – 165,200 annually, commensurate with experience.
