Supervisory Program Analyst (Artificial Intelligence)
As a Supervisory Program Analyst (Artificial Intelligence), GS-0343-15, your typical work assignments may include the following:
- Manages, leads and directs staff which includes evaluating their overall performance and providing advice, counsel, and instructions to accomplish their assigned functions.
- Plans and assigns work to subordinate staff, adjusts priorities based on mission needs, and prepares schedules to ensure timely completion of assignments as a first-level supervisor.
- Reviews proposed AI legislation and recommends policy changes to align with Federal AI objectives and agency priorities.
- Represents the agency on interagency committees and coordinating bodies focused on AI governance and policy implementation.
- Monitors and evaluates the performance of Federal agencies tasked with providing AI guidance and assistance, including National Institute for Standards and Technology and the General Services Administration.
- Develops and implements risk management frameworks to address AI specific risks, while maintaining strong safeguards for civil rights, civil liberties, and privacy.
- Drafts and coordinates agency responses to Government Accountability Office reports related to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Brief congressional members and staff on the current state of Federal AI policy, programs, and initiatives.
- Establishes and oversees mechanisms to identify and remove barriers hindering agency adoption and effective use of AI technologies.
- Reviews agency AI use case inventories and coordinates within OMB to identify and mitigate AI related compliance and operational risks.
