Job Purpose: We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically proficient Intermediate Product Owner / Java Developer to join our growing team. This hybrid role is crucial for bridging the gap between product needs and technical implementation
You will actively contribute to both the development of robust Java-based software solutions and the definition of product features, ensuring our microservices effectively meet user needs and business objectives. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow your expertise in both product ownership and advanced Java development within a dynamic and collaborative environment
Key Responsibilities:
Product Ownership & Backlog Management:
Bridge product strategy with technical execution by participating in backlog refinement and prioritization for specific microservices
Translate high-level requirements into clear, actionable user stories with acceptance criteria for the development team
Act as the primary technical point of contact for assigned microservices, clarifying user stories and explaining the 'why' behind development tasks to the team
Understand market and customer needs to inform product decisions for your microservice
Java Development & Technical Contribution:
Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java applications and components for enterprise microservices
Contribute hands-on to backend development including server-side logic, API design, and database interaction using modern Java frameworks
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Java code, adhering to best practices
Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure software quality and reliability
Contribute to microservice architectures and event-driven patterns
Collaboration & Agile Practices:
Serve as a key liaison between development, product management, and other stakeholders for your specific data pipeline and solutions
Communicate project progress, technical challenges, and solutions effectively to all relevant parties
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
Experience:
3-5 years of professional experience in Java software development, with a focus on building enterprise-level applications
optionally
1-2 years of experience or significant exposure to Product Owner responsibilities such as backlog management, user story creation, or stakeholder communication within an Agile team
Technical Expertise:
Solid understanding of Core Java (Java 11+ or higher), including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
Practical experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks
Experience with RESTful APIs
Familiarity with microservice concepts and practical experience with Docker
Experience with at least one database system (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB)
Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and basic understanding of CI/CD concepts
Experience with tools like Jira and Confluence for project and documentation management
Product Ownership Skills:
Good understanding of Agile principles and Scrum methodology
Ability to write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to contribute to product decisions
Foundational understanding of market and customer needs
