At Client's, our Digital Technology team is building the future of aviation through innovative technology solutions, advanced analytics, and enterprise-scale platforms. We are seeking a highly skilled DB2 Systems Programmer to join our IBM Mainframe Engineering team within Business Operations Services.

This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining DB2 for z/OS environments and associated third-party software products that support critical Tier 1 United Airlines applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with DB2 systems programming, performance tuning, software installation, and mainframe infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities

DB2 Infrastructure Support & Maintenance

Administer and support DB2 for z/OS environments supporting mission-critical applications including:
- PeopleSoft HR/Payroll
- Engine Maintenance Systems
- Reservation Centers
- Employee Travel Management Systems
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade DB2 and associated ISV products.
Ensure DB2 and related software remain on supported and current release levels.
Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and problem resolution.
Participate in testing and validation efforts during operating system, software, and hardware upgrades.
Provide 24x7 on-call support for production environments.

Performance & Systems Engineering

Monitor DB2 subsystem performance and proactively identify optimization opportunities.
Analyze system utilization trends and support capacity planning initiatives.
Troubleshoot complex system and application issues involving DB2 and related products.
Support installation, maintenance, and tuning of Broadcom DB2 tools and utilities.

Collaboration & Consulting

Partner with application development teams and business users to support access to enterprise data stored on IBM Mainframe platforms.
Work closely with:
- Mainframe Operating Systems teams
- Database Administration teams
- Storage Management
- Information Security
- Operations/Coverage
- Job Scheduling teams
Coordinate with software vendors for issue resolution and product support.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
3+ years of experience in DB2 Systems Programming on IBM Mainframe platforms.
Strong experience with:
- DB2 for z/OS (V12/V13)
- SMP/E (SMPE)
- IBM Assembler
- DB2 Connect
- TMONDB2
- Broadcom DB2 Tools (formerly RC Tools)
Experience installing, maintaining, monitoring, and tuning DB2 and related ISV products.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

5 10 years of DB2 Systems Programming experience.
Previous DB2 Database Administration (DBA) experience.
Strong performance analysis and tuning experience.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise mainframe environments.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
