In this position, you will focus on the decomposition and design of complex training device features and interfaces, work in a fast‑paced, modern agile development environment, and collaborate closely with software and hardware teams to build and test advanced mission capabilities.
What You Will Do- Participate in systems requirements modeling activities in a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment using SysML with Cameo.
- Serve as a systems architect or systems engineering focal to capture, analyze, decompose, model, translate and create requirements for large complex systems.
- Mentor team in developing functional, interface and performance specifications for hardware and software implementation, including identifying architecturally significant requirements and technical risk areas.
- Support technical proposal preparation and serve as a subject matter expert in non‑advocate, internal and customer reviews.
- Interface with customers and use oral and written skills to develop strong working relationships with stakeholders and teammates.
- Develop technical and product roadmaps and competitive assessments in your area of expertise.
- Recommend and help implement new approaches, tools and techniques based on metrics and defect trends.
- Develop and/or utilize prognostic metrics for system design and development.
- Review metrics and defect trends, identify systemic root causes and process improvements.
- Collins Aerospace solutions for military platforms.
- Applying MBSE principles to cutting‑edge solutions for emerging technologies.
- Using SEER parametric estimation tools for proposals and bids.
- Degree in STEM or equivalent with minimum 8 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 5 years experience. If lacking a degree, 12 years relevant experience required.
- Active and transferable U.S. Government DoD issued Secret Security Clearance prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Experience with capture, analysis and decomposition of system requirements.
- Experience identifying, analyzing and resolving problems in all phases of the system lifecycle.
- Experience working with customers, end users, hardware design teams and software design teams.
- On‑site presence in a classified lab space.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 10% of time.
- Experience with RF and/or mission systems solutions.
- Experience with MBSE design tools (Enterprise Architect, Cameo or equivalent) using SysML.
- Experience in a SAFe Agile environment.
- Project and earned‑value management experience.
- Root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Knowledge of bidding and project/task estimation tools (e.g., SEER).
