Senior Technical Data Analyst – SQL & Systems Integration
About the Opportunity:
An enterprise technology organization is seeking a Senior Technical Data Analyst to support the design and delivery of enterprise software solutions with a strong emphasis on SQL, enterprise data analysis, API integrations, and systems integration.
This is a highly technical role that combines data analysis, technical business analysis, and software delivery. You will work closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Software Engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to analyze enterprise data, define technical requirements, document system integrations, and support application development throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

What You'll Do:
Technical Data Analysis
- Write complex SQL queries to analyze enterprise data, validate business rules, troubleshoot issues, and support software delivery.
- Analyze relational databases, application data models, and data flows between enterprise systems.
- Investigate production issues by performing data validation and root cause analysis.
- Support data quality initiatives by identifying inconsistencies across multiple systems and applications.
- Interpret source and target system data to support software integration efforts.
Systems Integration & Technical Design
- Analyze enterprise applications and document system interactions between multiple platforms.
- Design, document, and review REST and SOAP API integrations.
- Create technical specifications, functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Software Engineers to evaluate solution options and recommend implementation approaches.
- Document application workflows, integration points, and technical dependencies.
Software Delivery & Collaboration
- Partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, developers, testers, and third-party vendors throughout the SDLC.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and technical workshops.
- Provide technical clarification to development teams during implementation.
- Support QA teams by reviewing test results, triaging defects, validating fixes, and performing root cause analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance software quality and delivery efficiency.
- Build trusted relationships across business and technology teams while ensuring solutions meet both functional and technical requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Data Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar technical role.
- Advanced SQL experience is required, including writing complex queries, joins, aggregations, troubleshooting, and data validation.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, database schemas, and enterprise data models.
- Experience documenting and supporting REST and SOAP API integrations.
- Experience analyzing enterprise applications, system workflows, and integration patterns.
- Experience translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications and functional designs.
- Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation.
- Experience working closely with Software Engineers, Solution Architects, Product Owners, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
- Experience supporting enterprise software delivery throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments using Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and enterprise application architecture.
- Experience working with microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience using API documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI or Postman.
- Experience working with middleware or enterprise integration platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, etc.).
- Previous experience within insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
- Exposure to Oracle, SQL Server, or other enterprise database platforms.
