Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join their technology team in Sandton. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for a senior software engineering professional who enjoys balancing hands‑on development with technical leadership, mentoring developers and delivering scalable enterprise solutions. Approximately 60–70% of the role focuses on leadership, with the remaining 30–40% dedicated to hands‑on development.
Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership to a team of software developers. Design and develop secure, scalable, high‑performance enterprise applications. Lead solution architecture, technical design and code review activities. Mentor developers and promote engineering best practices. Drive software quality, governance and continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee CI/CD processes and software release management. Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects and cross‑functional teams. Contribute to system architecture, technical standards and innovation. Support the delivery of enterprise applications across long‑term or fast‑paced project environments. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field. 10+ years' experience in software development. Expert Java and Spring Boot development experience. Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP and Graph QL APIs. Experience with Azure Dev Ops and CI/CD pipelines. Strong SQL and No SQL database experience. Experience with Kafka and messaging technologies. Cloud experience with Azure and AWS. Kubernetes, Docker and Infrastructure as Code (YAML) experience. Strong understanding of Domain‑Driven Design and microservices architecture.
