What you’ll do
- Lead a team of software engineers in the design, development, and deployment of Python-based applications, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers, providing guidance on coding techniques, architectural decisions, and career development.
- Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure that the team follows established development processes.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and tools that enhance productivity and improve the overall development workflow.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the development process, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA and DevOps, to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Python and software development, sharing insights with the team to drive innovation.
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation, ensuring that all processes and systems are well-documented for future reference.
- Assist in the recruitment process by evaluating candidates and participating in interviews to build a strong technical team.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure that the solutions developed meet their needs and expectations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a software engineer with a strong focus on Python development, ideally with 5+ years in the field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing and mentoring a team of developers.
- In-depth knowledge of web frameworks such as Django or Flask, and experience with RESTful API design.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, and experience in deploying applications in a cloud environment.
- Strong understanding of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience with data modeling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
Nice to have
- Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, React, or Angular, to facilitate full-stack development.
- Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI for automated testing and deployment.
