At PWXR, we don't just build software.

We are building an ecosystem where movement, technology, connectivity and collaboration come together.

Through our Active Esports Arena (AEA) and The NXT Fit, we develop technology that literally gets people moving. Our solutions are used across sports, education, health and wellbeing, and are developed in collaboration with partners from government, telecom, education and innovation sectors.

We are also a partner in the Dutch FNS 6G programme, where industry leaders, researchers and innovators explore how future networks can enable new forms of interaction, collaboration and societal impact.

To help shape the next phase of our growth, we are looking for an experienced developer who wants to do more than build software — someone who wants to help define the technical direction of our platform.

What will you build?

You will play a key role in the development of The NXT Cloud: the central platform behind our locations, users, data and services.

This includes:

• On-site player flow systems

• Databases and cloud infrastructure

• Online player portals

• Management environments for teachers, coaches and wellbeing managers

• Survey and research platforms

• Dashboards and reporting tools

• Integrations with booking systems and third-party services

• Future AI-powered and data-driven products

Important: this role is not focused on VR game development. You will be building the platform, infrastructure and digital ecosystem that powers everything around it.

Not your typical developer role

We're not looking for someone who simply works through tickets.

We're looking for someone who wants to help build the technical future of our platform.

Today we work with technologies such as:

• PostgreSQL

• Supabase

• Next.js

• React

• Node.js

However, we don't see technology as the goal.

The decisions we make tomorrow will be made together.

Perhaps we'll continue building on our current stack. Perhaps we'll adopt a different architecture, cloud strategy or platform approach in the future.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable challenging assumptions, making technical trade-offs and taking ownership of those decisions.

Your role

• Further develop and improve existing platforms and systems

• Take technical ownership of new initiatives

• Contribute to architecture, scalability and platform strategy

• Design and integrate new systems and services

• Mentor junior developers where needed

• Help shape new products from concept to implementation

• Work with the team to build a scalable ecosystem for the years ahead

Who are you?

You likely have at least 5 years of experience building and maintaining production-grade software systems.

You recognise yourself in many of the following:

• Strong full-stack development experience

• Experience with Node.js, React and/or Next.js

• Experience with cloud platforms and databases

• Able to quickly understand and improve existing codebases

• Comfortable taking ownership and responsibility

• Able to think beyond implementation and contribute to product and platform decisions

• Structured and pragmatic in your approach

• Familiar with Git, CI/CD and modern development workflows

• Curious about emerging technologies, including AI

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL or Supabase

• Experience with Linux

• Experience with Raspberry Pi or edge computing

• Affinity with sports, gaming, XR or interactive technologies

• Experience with SaaS platforms or multi-tenant architectures
