Requirements
- 10+ years of technology program/project management experience in a large-scale matrix organization, managing schedule, budget, scope, overseeing multiple project managers and vendors.
- 8+ years of program/project management experience with Agile (SCRUM) methodologies, continuous integration and delivery, and agile delivery tools.
- Experience in the Retail domain, specifically with Ecommerce website and mobile app systems.
- Proven experience as a Project, Program or Application Delivery Manager leading enhancements, migrations, or integrations, with knowledge of application development tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and lead across all organization levels.
- Lead sophisticated, large-scale cross-team initiatives, collaborating with engineering managers and engineers to estimate work, define achievements, manage resources, track progress, resolve dependencies, evaluate risks, and communicate status to upper management.
- Proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress, identify communication gaps, handle partner concerns, and support teams balancing challenging priorities.
- Understand technical implementation at the architecture level, ask clarifying questions, and push the team for high effectiveness; develop broad domain and technical knowledge.
- Help with cross-functional planning and business planning, leading conversations to develop concepts for critical initiatives and translating them into detailed program/project plans, including roadmaps, resource planning, and hiring goals.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to the engineering organization and program management processes; share frameworks, tools, and methodologies that can be embraced throughout the organization to improve product development and delivery.
- Solid experience leading and managing technical teams.
- Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP.
- Skills to coach teams on effective agile Scrum practices.
- Expertise in estimation and planning.
- Understanding of iterative and incremental development fundamentals.
- Knowledge of other methodologies beyond Agile-Scrum for broader guidance.
- Basic knowledge of software development processes and procedures.
- Commitment to deliver products on time.
- Awareness of the value of metrics and incremental delivery.
- Knowledge of tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories, etc.
- Ability to provide technical guidance to the team.
Job Responsibilities
- Experience in Retail domain, specifically in Ecommerce website and mobile app systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative subject, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 6+ years of proven experience as a Program Manager (Tech) or Technical Program Manager or Engineering Manager in a software or systems development environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional emotional intelligence.
- Ability to influence and empower across a broad variety of job functions through strong relationships.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple, challenging priorities simultaneously.
- Strong technical, analytical and quantitative skills with data-driven decisions.
- Strong technical experience in large distributed systems and knowledge of microservice delivery.
- Solid technical proficiency and ability to comprehend designs, challenges, and risks; collaborate closely with engineers.
- Familiarity with engineering metrics like code coverage, service reliability, service efficiency, capacity management.
- Help teammates clarify goals and actions.
- Facilitate team creativity and improve development efficiency.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Architects.
- Act as a technical leader of the team.
- Perform and review detailed design of functionality for each sprint.
- Allocate resources for sprints.
- Manage the scrum process and coordinate Agile teams.
- Remove impediments for the scrum team.
- Arrange daily stand‑ups, facilitate meetings, schedule demos, and decision‑making processes to ensure inspection and adaptation.
- Help product owners maintain clean product backlogs and readiness for sprint.
- Act as safeguard for the team, shielding from distractions.
- Resolve conflicts, focusing on scrum values of openness, honesty and respect.
- Reinforce communication within the team.
- Forecast deliverables possible in an iteration based on evidence.
- Coach Agile practices; mentor individuals and interactions over processes and tools.
- Help manage cross‑scrum team communications.
