We are seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive the delivery of cross-functional technology programs that power our retail business spanning eCommerce, supply chain, store systems, and enterprise technology. As a TPM, you will own programs end to end: partnering with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define scope and plans, driving execution across multiple teams, managing risks and dependencies, and communicating status and outcomes to leadership.
This is an on-site position located in Springfield, MO. Remote work is not an option for this position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Own end-to-end delivery of technology programs and projects across technology and business functions, from initiation through launch, ensuring they deliver measurable business value
Develop and maintain integrated program plans, including scope, schedules, milestones, resourcing, and success criteria, using the methodology best suited to the work (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, or iterative Waterfall)
Drive cross-functional execution across engineering, infrastructure, QA, and business teams, removing blockers and keeping teams aligned on priorities and commitments
Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, and cross-team dependencies; escalate with clarity and drive escalations to resolution
Engage with engineering teams on technical trade-offs, understanding software architecture, integrations, networking, hardware, and infrastructure implications of program decisions
Establish and report program health metrics; deliver clear, concise written and verbal status communications to stakeholders and leadership, including presentations to large groups
Support portfolio-level planning by contributing to prioritization, estimation, scheduling, slotting, and resourcing of projects
Track program budgets, monitor actuals against plan, and communicate financial status and impacts to leadership
Facilitate key program meetings and working sessions — planning, retrospectives, cross-team syncs, and decision-making forums — with strong facilitation and mediation skills
Champion Agile, Lean, and DevOps best practices within your programs, and contribute to continuously improving project management processes across the technology organization
Partner with technology and business leadership to adapt plans when priorities shift, recovering programs from impacts while protecting business outcomes
Ensure quality is built into delivery by coordinating with QA on test strategy, release readiness, and launch criteria
Coordinate third-party vendor participation in program delivery, including tracking dependencies, deliverables, risks, issues, and timely resolution of blockers
Drive engineering and operational readiness across large technology programs by ensuring architecture, dependencies, environments, security, testing, observability, release readiness, and production support needs are identified, tracked, and completed before development and deployment milestones
Drive programs through architecture and technical governance reviews (e.g., ARB), ensuring designs are reviewed, approved, and aligned with enterprise standards before implementation
Select and apply the right tools and techniques for each program's characteristics, focusing on outcomes over process
Contribute to improving project and program management best practices
Mentor peers and share best practices
