Program Manager – Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Program Manager to lead large-scale, complex IT services programs spanning cloud, data, platform, and enterprise application landscapes. This role carries end-to-end ownership of program outcomes — balancing hands-on delivery execution with strategic portfolio alignment across multiple concurrent engagements for internal stakeholders and external clients. The ideal candidate brings both program governance rigor and a product engineering mindset — understanding the technical architecture underneath delivery, not just the schedule on top of it.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Own end-to-end delivery across scope, schedule, cost, and quality — consistently meeting client satisfaction and business outcome targets.
  • Establish and govern Agile/hybrid program frameworks, metrics, and tooling (Jira, executive dashboards, status reporting) across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Provide oversight across multi-vendor, cross-geography teams, ensuring consistent delivery standards and accountability.

Product & Technical Ownership

  • Apply a product development mindset to program delivery — thinking in terms of releases, technical debt, platform scalability, and long-term maintainability rather than just milestone dates.
  • Partner with architects and engineering leads to understand system design trade-offs (cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, integration architecture) well enough to make informed scope, sequencing, and risk calls.
  • Own technical roadmap alignment — ensuring program plans reflect realistic engineering constraints (CI/CD maturity, environment readiness, tech debt, dependency mapping across microservices/platforms).
  • Drive quality engineering practices across programs — test automation coverage, release readiness gates, defect leakage, and production stability metrics.
  • Guide build-vs-buy and platform modernization decisions (e.g., cloud migration, data platform re-architecture) in collaboration with technical leadership.
  • Champion DevOps and SDLC maturity — CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation), observability, and automated deployment practices across program teams.
  • Maintain working fluency in the technology stacks in play (cloud platforms like AWS/Azure/GCP, data platforms like Snowflake/Databricks, integration/API layers) sufficient to challenge estimates, de-risk technical dependencies, and speak credibly with client engineering teams.

Strategic & Portfolio Management

  • Drive strategic planning and portfolio prioritization, aligning programs with organizational goals and client transformation roadmaps.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and clients, translating business objectives into executable, outcome-driven program roadmaps.
  • Shape enterprise-scale program governance structures, risk management frameworks, and escalation mechanisms.

Financial & Commercial Governance

  • Own financial governance across program budgeting, forecasting, revenue assurance, and margin optimization.
  • Oversee contract execution, including SOW compliance, change management, commercial negotiations, and cross-vendor dependencies.

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Own client communication at executive and steering committee levels — proactively managing expectations, risks, and escalations.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with client and internal leadership, serving as the primary point of accountability for program health.

Generative AI & Innovation

  • Define and drive enterprise adoption of Generative AI for program governance, predictive risk analysis, intelligent status reporting, and data-driven decision-making across delivery portfolios.
  • Evaluate and pilot AI-assisted engineering tools (code generation, automated testing, agentic workflows) to improve delivery velocity and quality across programs.
  • Establish responsible AI usage standards within program management practices and mentor delivery teams on effective, scaled adoption.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional and matrixed delivery teams, fostering a high-performance, accountable delivery culture.
  • Build organizational capability by coaching program and project managers on governance best practices, technical literacy, and stakeholder management.
