Technical Program Manager I
Location: Fremont, California (Remote)
Compensation: $66 - $76 Hourly
Role Overview
The main function of a Technical Program Manager is to provide successful definition, implementation, and delivery of complex programs that require cross-functional collaboration and interdependencies across a group of projects and related activities. This role involves program-level strategic planning, interaction with executive-level management, complex issue resolution, and team building.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver programs within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and budget.
- Oversee project scope definition, requirements gathering, time estimating, project schedule development, and project status reporting.
- Manage issue and risk management, contingency planning, and communications across multiple organizational levels.
- Manage internal and matrixed teams that serve on projects to deliver systems and systems enhancements.
- Facilitate agile squad ceremonies such as stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives to maintain delivery cadence.
- Track and unblock cross-squad and cross-functional dependencies in matrixed environments.
- Manage release gate-keeping, validating quality and readiness criteria prior to production deployments.
- Translate business priorities into engineering-ready requirements, acceptance criteria, and delivery timelines.
- Own recurring cross-project status and risk reporting for stakeholders and leadership.
- Coordinate delivery across AI/automation and enterprise support tooling platforms.
- Lead program knowledge transfer and documentation to ensure delivery continuity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with project estimating, project scheduling, and customer interaction and management.
- Proven people management and team-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to learn business processes and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.
- Ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications and business functions.
- Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment.
- Experience with the software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency with Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- An MBA or other related advanced degree is preferred.
- PMP or PMI certification.
