About the Role
This position is funded through the Graduate Transition Initiative, delivered by techNL and the Department of Jobs, Growth and Rural Development. The initiative provides support to eligible companies that hire recent graduates into software development and tech sales roles, providing meaningful early‑career experience while supporting long‑term growth in Newfoundland and Labrador's tech sector.
Eligibility
- Ability to work full‑time in Newfoundland and Labrador starting July/August 2026.
- Legally entitled to work full‑time in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Completion (within the past two years) of a minimum one‑year post‑secondary or skills‑training program at a recognized NL institution (e.g., MUN, CNA, Keyin College, Get Building, etc.).
- Not currently enrolled as a full‑time student.

The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Developer to join our core team. You will play a crucial role in building, testing, and piloting our platform, helping to redefine the marine and offshore oil and gas maintenance and supply chain industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Back End Development and Integration: Develop and maintain scalable APIs using Python, REST APIs and HTTP.
- QA Product Testing and Ownership: Work on end‑to‑end features, QA testing, database schemas design to UI Implementation.
- AI Implementation: Assist in integrating AI/ML Learning models into the product workflows.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the founding team to brainstorm features and user experience.
Requirements
- Solid Python fundamentals.
- Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
- Comfortable using Git (branching, pull requests, resolving conflicts).
- Some experience writing unit tests (any language or framework).
- Can read and understand existing code without handholding.
Nice to Have
- Datascience and Data Analytics skills would be excellent.
- Exposure to FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python web frameworks.
- Basic Docker knowledge.
- Experience with integration testing or API testing (e.g. Postman, pytest,
- Familiarity with QA practices — test coverage, regression testing, bug reporting.
- Any experience with microservices or multi‑service codebases.
- Context programming using GenAi.
- Knowledge of marine industry would be a huge added advantage.
