Program Description
Saskatchewan Polytechnic's two-year Library and Information Technology diploma program prepares students to support librarians in any type of library or manage day-to-day operations in a small library. The curriculum covers acquisitions, circulation, interlibrary loans, archives, database searching, cataloguing, programming, public relations, reader assistance, and website design, and includes two three‑week practicums for hands‑on experience in a real working environment.
Admission Requirements
- Grade 12 with a minimum 60% average in English Language Arts A30 and English Language Arts B30
- English language proficiency (proof of proficiency required)
- Accepted applicants may be required to provide evidence of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search. The applicant is responsible for the cost of this check; the presence of certain findings may result in denial of work‑experience placement.
