Position: WCS/R&D Engineer - (JAVA)
Duration: 12 month assignment (contract)

About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking the services of an experienced WCS/R&D Engineer - (JAVA) consultant to support on‑site software deployment and testing for P&G (Procter & Gamble) Canada Logistics Tech project.
Role: WCS/R&D Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Implementation & Support: Handle on‑site WCS deployment, debugging, optimization, and user training to ensure stable go‑live.
- Java Development: Participate in requirement analysis and develop core modules using Java (SpringBoot, MyBatis).
- Troubleshooting: Resolve technical faults during implementation and operation; ensure on‑time delivery.
- Documentation: Create implementation docs, operation manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
- Coordination: Act as a bridge between clients, R&D, electrical, and mechanical teams for efficient integration.
- Algorithm Optimization: Optimize logistics scheduling algorithms to enhance warehouse efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in CS, Software Engineering, Logistics, Automation, or related fields.
- Tech Stack: 2+ years of Java experience; proficient in SpringBoot, SpringMVC, MyBatis, and MySQL.
- Domain Knowledge: WCS/WMS experience preferred; familiar with AGV, stacker crane, and conveyor logic.
- System Skills: Proficient in Linux operations; capable of independent deployment and rapid problem‑solving.
- Hardware Understanding: Understand industrial electrical controls, PLCs, sensors, and communication protocols.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, stress resistance, and willingness for long‑term travel/on‑site work.
